Well, it has come to my attention that there is a lot of fan art dedicated to Mushishi (the hit anime and manga by Yuki Urushibara) but not enough clubs!! Oh no!! So now, there is a club. What is Mushishi? Mushishi is an anime and manga by Yuki Urushibara which features our hero, Ginko (who is also voiced by the oh=so-popular Travis Willingham, traveling the fantastic world of mushi. Ginko is a mushishi (bug master) and is, basically, a doctor who cures the paranormal. He has white hair and one green eye (plus a glass eye which had been given up in the second episode) and is found smoking constantly to ward off the paranormal life forces known as "Mushi" (which will be explained later). Ginko wears western clothes, completely western, and carries around a large wooden box which, as far as we know, carries around special medicines, maps, ect. Plus! He's voice by Travis Willingham, well known to most people as Roy Mustang from Full Metal Alchemist and Brotherhood and also Takashi from Ouran High School Host Club. Also, various other parts in anime. What are Mushi? Now, mushi, they aren't ghosts, but more along the lines of "life itself". Only few certain people can see them (and usually become mushi masters)however, mushi can influence everyone. What is this show about? Basically, we follow Ginko around the world as he cures different cases of mushi. Each story is unique, subtle, and a bit sad. However, they're amazing and I highly recommend the show! It isn't much of an action show, but more along the lines of a very very sad "romance" story that has to deal with "real life" situations like the pain of a loved one's death, or any other little story. They're all creative in their own ways. They're... How should I put it? ... Hauntingly beautiful. Something that can never be forgotten. The scenery is beautifully drawn, and the concepts so deep and touching, they're sure to get you hooked. What do we accept? We accept anything and everything that relates to Mushishi or Yuki Urushibara. Stories, poems, drawings, ect. As long as it includes some sort of reference then it is acceptable. (: Meaning, it doesn't just have to be Ginko! Your work could also just have Adashino, or Tanyu, or even some of the minor characters that appear in the various cases. You could even draw the mushi themselves, or you could create your own character/mushi and submit them. Anything works. :D To learn more, visit the official fan site and go watch the first few episodes! www.funimation.com/mushishi/ It's a great show that doesn't seem to get enough attention! ;_; Please join! |
